Welcome Passionate Cook and Best-Selling Author Sabrina York!

Hi Sharon! Thanks for letting me share!

I was so excited to have a recipe included in the Passionate Cooks cookbook! These Steamy Cinnamon Rolls were a standard in our kitchen all while I was growing up. You can use the recipe to make crescent rolls, or as a base for any yeast based bread and it is super delicious!

The trick is to mix in the oil slowly so the finished dough is super smooth and flaky. Yum.

The cookbook is available for free from All Romance eBooks.

While you’re there picking up your copy, check out my books! My most recent release is an erotic Regency, Folly, coming October 31st From Ellora's Cave:

Widowed and threatened with penury by her heartless in-laws, Eleanor, Lady Ulster hatches a plot to save herself. Determined to produce the Ulster “heir,” she seduces a stranger at tawdry masquerade. Ethan Pennington is mortified to arrive at the Earl of Darlington’s house party and discover Lady Ulster in attendance. He has wanted her and hated wanting her—his enemy’s bride—for years. The opportunity to finally have her, while taking the revenge he craves, is more than he can resist.

Ethan strikes a bargain with Eleanor, promising to provide her with the heir she so desperately needs…but requires she meet his needs in return—every decadent one of them. Welcome fellow Passionate Cook and Best-selling Author Adrienne Davenport!

As a romance author I am very passionate about my work. I enjoy the process of creating not only stories but the characters that are involved within them. It is truly fascinating to watch these books grow and develop, often times one feeding off of another. At this time I live with my family in Moab, Utah. When I am not writing I can most often be found either spending time with my son, Julian, a five year old boy who I often tell people is "too smart for my own good." or riding my bike around the beautiful area. If you would like to discover more about me or my books you can visit my official page: www.adriennedavenportbooks.com. If you would like to contact me, I can be reached at: adrienne_davenport@hotmail.com. I love hearing from readers and welcome any feedback you may have. I hope you enjoy the stories.

To date, I am twenty-five, mother to a wonderful little boy, an adventurous cook, and a writer of two different sub-genres of romance. But as with most things, what is now an ordinary event, started as a once upon a time. There was a point, not so many years ago, that I was the girl standing on porch step telling my mom to please let me help my dad work on the car. I wanted absolutely nothing to do with the kitchen- at all. And it was true. Though my sisters loved to help my mom with the cooking I possessed a severe aversion to anything remotely related to the catch phrase “homemade”. Then, one year, the result of a sportsmanship award issued by my school, I was asked to travel to Australia to participate in the Down Under Games. While I was there I stumbled across a muffin recipe, cream cheese and passion fruit muffins. I absolutely loved the treats. Upon returning to the states I wanted to find a recipe that matched the one I had tasted. I hunted for years, finally being forced to combine two recipes to match the one I was after. In the process I began to enjoy the idea of cooking.

This new love followed me for years. Then one afternoon just before Christmas, about three years back, I developed an extreme craving for creamy maple fudge. My Grandma, who at one point in time had performed most of the Christmas cooking, had passed away not to long before that. For the entirety of my childhood she had spent countless hours each year before Christmas creating trays which contained various homemade goodies such as fudge and mounds ball. Once these were completed we would deliver them to friends of the family, a small Christmas Present of sorts. Everyone who received one of these loved them. Now however, with her having passed, most of the family, still retaining a small measure of the sadness that followed, had no desire to take over the endeavor.

That day, the inspiration struck me, if no one else was willing to do so, why should I not do so? The idea seemed a little crazy since after all I had for years been the sole girl to avoid that sector of the house, no matter the facts. But I was determined to have my fudge. So, over the course of the day I explored the internet, searching for the perfect recipe. Instead of the one I’d been tracking, the result was about five different pieces. I wanted to make every one of them! And I did. I created at least ten different trays. At first, looking at them splayed across the kitchen counter, I’m quite certain my family was afraid of risking the taste of burned food. They soon discovered however the food was not only cute, but yummy as well.

For every year since, I, as well as various member of my family, have continued to make those trays. Were it not for my stumbling across this delicious muffin recipe, I might never have delved into the art of cooking. That said, I can only begin to tell you how much I might have missed out on as a result. It only seemed fitting that a recipe, which carried such a special place in my heart, should be the one I submitted to this cookbook. That they accepted the submission was truly exciting. Being able to work with such wonderful authors on this incredible book has been truly an honor. Welcome Best-Selling Author Kara Leigh Miller!

Again Welcome Kara, It's great to have you on my blog today!

Here's a little information about the wonderful Kara.

Born and raised in the small town of Mexico, New York, Kara was an only child who was forced to find ways to entertain herself. Playing make believe with her Barbie dolls and stuffed animals was her first real taste of storytelling before she became old enough to develop a love affair with the written word.

In early 2010, Kara picked up her very first erotic romance novel, and she was instantly hooked. She loves to write contemporary romance, erotica, and young adult romance. Currently she has several full-length novels in the works, a series of novellas, and a handful of short stories. Kara is an active member of the CNY Creative Writers Café and the CNY Romance Writers.

Today, Kara resides in New Haven, New York with her husband, five kids, and three cats. When she’s not reading or writing, she’s thinking about reading and writing. And when she’s not doing that, she’s spending time with her family and friends.

Kara, lets jump right in with some questions.

1. Do you like to listen to music while you write? If so, who are your favorite artists?

YES! Most of the time I have the TV on while writing—mostly for the background noise, but when I write certain scenes (sex, danger, confessions, anything really emotional) I will find music to listen to. I have very eclectic tastes. Recently I’ve been in a serious country music kick. Some of my favorite country artists are Luke Bryan (yum!), Tim McGraw (double yum!), Kenney Chesney (drool worthy!), Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, and George Strait. Oh, and of course Lady Antebellum. When I’m not listening to country I prefer almost anything from the 80s—Madonna, Aerosmith, Poison, Journey, etc.

2. Coffee or tea?
Yuck! Neither. I prefer Pepsi.

3. What inspired you to start writing?
My great Aunt Betty was a writer and had a few small publications. My mother is a very prolific writer who has binders and binders of stories she’s written—with no desire to publish them. She writes because she enjoys it. Anyway, Aunt Betty and my mom were, and still are, a huge inspiration to me.

I’ve always loved to read and I’ve always had this desire to write something. The timing just never seemed right. I’d start something but would never finish it. When all my kids started school and I was left home alone, I got bored. Sure, I suppose I could’ve gotten a job, but I had 101 reasons not to. So, I decided it was finally time to finish something. I put my fingers on the keyboard and I haven’t stopped since.

4. How do you choose the character's names?
Oh, man. Finding names for my characters is probably the one thing I struggle with the most. I use random name generators; I search the Social Security Administration website; I do Google searches for baby names. My favorite way to choose a character name though is via Facebook. I’ll post a few variations of names I’m considering along with a brief character sketch and ask my fans to either vote or provide suggestions. I’ve gotten a lot of great names that way.

5. Who are some of your favorite authors? What are you reading now?
Some of my favorite authors are Lora Leigh, Julie Ann Walker, and Ryan Winfield. Currently I’m not reading anything, but I just finished Ryan Winfield’s “The Park Service”. (Great book, by the way, I highly recommend it.)

Let's talk about your writing career.

She met her husband at UF and both of her daughters graduated from UF. Go Gators. Marilyn now lives in Roswell, Georgia, with her husband.

Sharon: Marilyn, tell us why you chose Pasta Passionata Alla Carbonara for your Passionate Cooks recipe.

Marilyn: When I was a student in Florence, Italy, during my junior year in college, I learned to make spaghetti carbonara. When I returned home, that became my signature dish—the one I always make for company. Everyone loves it and it tastes just as good reheated and served the next day. I like to try out variations at different restaurants to see if they are as good as mine. Most of the time, they’re not. I renamed the dish Pasta Passionata Alla Carbonara for the Passionate Cooks cookbook. My love of Italy shows through in my novel, “The Edger,” which features a love affair between a landscape artist and her former college art professor, a once-celebrated Italian artist, who is now a homeless lawn man—her lawn man.

Sharon: It looks wonderful. Tell us about The Edger:

Marilyn: THE EDGER, by sisters Marilyn Baron and Sharon Goldman, is a humorous mainstream fiction novel about landscape artist Alexandra Newborn’s shocking reunion with her college art professor, Nick Anselmo—once a celebrated Italian artist, now a homeless lawn man—which sows the seeds for murder, mystery and romance.

In gratitude for food, art materials and company, Nick, or The Edger, as Alex comes to think of him, drops off a new sketch in front of Alex’s house every week when he comes to do her lawn. Nick’s provocative artwork is the key to revealing a dangerous liaison between Alex’s husband, Mark, and Bitsy Diamond, owner of the gallery where Alex dreams of having a one-woman show.

When a deadly hurricane takes a dangerous turn the night of Nick’s opening, Mark’s body washes up behind Bitsy’s beach house, leaving readers to wonder hodunit?

Come Check out The Next Best Thing Blog!

Thanks to the lovely author Lorrie Struiff, who writes Western Romance, for inviting me to participate in 'The Next Big Thing'!

1. What is the title of your latest book?
It's Klutzy Love and it's the third book in The Corny Myers Series.

2. Where did the idea come from for the book?
I wrote two short stories; book one, Flamingo Blues and book two, Be Mine of 'The Corny Myers Series' and though it was a good idea to go back and write about how Corny and Steve met.

3. What genre does your book fall under?
Paranormal Romance with lots of humor and cute critters,

4. Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
Kellan Lutz as Steve Spears, he looks tough is a very sexy way. Mila Kunis would make a great Corny Myers. Sweet, but kind of klutzy looking.

5. What is the book blurb for your book?

Corny is a hot chick with a great job that she loves. All that changed in the blink of an eye when her boss had an accident involving an oversized rubber band. She’s still a hot chick, but her boss is dead.

Steve Spears is a seasoned narcotics cop who ends up wanting to strangle Corny on a regular basis. After finding out Corny’s dream of opening a pet detective business, he decides he doesn’t want a girlfriend who routinely puts herself in danger. That’s his job!

Corny misses Steve, but she’s getting on with her life. She decides to get a month’s worth of dating out of the way in a single night, by combining her three favorite things—men, food, and alcohol.

Steve’s big gun and cop’s intuition saves Corny’s life, but not from another trip to the emergency room. He makes Corny promise never to get hurt again—she agreed, but has her fingers crossed behind her back.
Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
They are published by Books To Go Now.

6. How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
It depends on the length of the book and I have a day job, husband, and cat that take a lot of my time. I'd say two months.

7. What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
My writing style is similar to Janet Evanovich's. Stephanie Plum, with a psychic twist.

8. Who or What inspired you to write this book?
My wonderful, creative husband. He is a constant source of ideas. Oh, and my cat too!

9. What else about your book might pique the reader's interest?
My heroine talks to animals and they usually have some pretty interesting things to say.

I'll be choosing one lucky winner to receive an eBook copy of my latest release Klutzy Love from one of the wonderful comments.

Below are five more authors you can visit for a chance to win great prices on Halloween, next Wednesday October 31th.

Welcome Passionate Cook and Author Meredith Bond!

Hi Meredith, thank you for stopping by to talk about your wonderful recipe Black Beans and Rice. Yum!

Meredith: Cooking is not something which came naturally to me. My only grandmother related by blood (my father’s mother) was a well-known lousy cook, who would buy sub sandwiches (hoagies for those from Philadelphia and New Jersey) for any and every occasion instead of cooking. My mother’s idea of dinner was a broiled slab of red meat, baked potato and string beans – every single night for years! I don’t think I’ve had a steak since. So, is it any wonder that when I happened to marry a gourmand, I decided that I’d learn to cook vegetarian meals?

I’m not actually a vegetarian, I just lean that way because it’s so healthy. My husband, happily, doesn’t mind, as long as he gets some meat and fish during the week. But since it was I, alone, who had to figure out how to cook, what I make is as easy as cooking can possibly get. Therefore, when I was trying to expand my vegetarian repertoire, while still cooking something my husband and children would enjoy, my Cuban neighbor suggested her favorite dish – black beans with rice. Perfect!

Healthy, vegetarian, and, I found out when I searched for a recipe on the internet, easy (with most of the ingredients coming out of a can). I took all the recipes I found, and mix and matched ingredients until I came up with something spicy enough to keep my husband happy, and comforting enough for my kids – a win all around.

Does it tie into my writing? Not at all, I’m so sorry to say. I write Regency-set paranormal romance – I love that dash of magic in my favorite Regency setting, just as I love a dash of jalapeno pepper in my black beans. My story is fun, filled with magic, some really nasty villains and a beautiful, talented artist; black beans… well, they’re healthy. Still, it couldn’t hurt to give either one of them a try. You might like them!

You can find this and many other incredible recipes in the FREE All Romance Passionate Cooks cookbook. In fact you can find my Lip Smacking Pork Roulade...ha ha!

Tell me about your latest release, Magic In The Storm. I love your cover, very sexy!

Meredith: The seventh child of the seventh child has always been a girl. Until Morgan Vallentyn was born. Because he’s male he can’t access the magical powers that should have been his . Welcome fellow Passionate Cook and best-selling author Anna Alexander!

Sharon: Tell me a little about yourself:

Anna: My literary world changed at age thirteen when a friend gave her Kathleen E. Woodwiss’s A Rose in Winter. With my mind thoroughly blown, I decided that one day I too would be a romance novelist. With Hugh Jackman’s abs and Christopher Reeve’s blue eyes as inspiration, I loved spinning tales of superheroes finding love.

More about Anna can be found at http://www.annaalexander.net/

Sharon: Tell me about your latest release.

Anna: Hero Unleashed is book two in the Heroes of Saturn series.

Princess Amaryllis should have been sad to be exiled from her home on the Saturn moon, but on Earth she finds freedoms she never imagined existed. She embraces her new home with big, open-mouthed kisses and establishes herself as a prominent business woman catering to the human’s most intimate desires.

When the former head of her father’s guard enters her domain, he not only rouses old insecurities but also a burning desire to see him lose the formal constraints and succumb to the promise in his command.

Lucian Kilsgaard was a warrior without a mission until he received word that an assassin had been sent to ensure the exiled princess does not return to reclaim the throne. He goes to warn the princess and instead of the unconfident, impulsive girl he remembers, he finds a bold temptress. How can he protect her when all he wants is to sink into her softness? He vows the line between protector and lover will never be crossed, yet Amaryllis will test his resolve until he takes exactly what he needs.

Sharon: Tell me why you chose Lip Lickin' Lemon Tartlets for your recipe in the Passionate Cooks cook book.

Anna: I love chocolate, but I also like having an alternative flavor for desserts during family dinners. My lemon tarlets are always a crowd favorite, or I should say, it's the lemon curd that is the big hit.

Fresh lemon curd is super easy to make and can be used in a variety of dishes. Use it as a cake filling or to sandwich shortbread cookies together. One of my favorite summertime desserts is trifle. Layer pound cake with lemon curd, berries and whipped cream. Super yummy.

Sharon: Anna's is one of many great recipes you can find free in the Passionate Cooks cookbook.

Welcome Passionate Cook and Author Cassandra Carr

Cassandra Carr is a multi-published, award-winning erotic romance writer with Ellora's Cave, Siren, Sybarite Seductions and Loose Id who lives in Western New York with her husband, Inspiration, and her daughter, Too Cute for Words. When not writing she enjoys watching hockey and hanging out on Twitter. Cassandra's book Caught was recently named Best BDSM Book 2011 by LoveRomancesCafe and Impact was named BDSM Book of the Month for May 2012 by BDSM Book Reviews.

Sharon: Welcome Cassandra. Tell us about your wonderful recipe, Sour Cream Apple Pie.

Cassandra: I chose Sour Cream Apple Pie for a couple of reasons. First, I featured it in one of my books, Head Games. It's a menage book and the heroes have some fun with it and the heroine. I figured for a cookbook with recipes from romance novel authors it was a good fit.

The other reason I chose this recipe is because it's a prize-winning recipe passed down to me from my grandmother, so it's got a special place in my heart.

And yes, I think Grandma would be tickled to find out the nefarious uses for her pie that my two heroes come up with. ;-)

Sharon: Sounds like a great reason and it's looks incredible. Your grandmother would be proud. Tell us about your latest release, Double Vision.

Cassandra: Here's the BOOK BLURB FOR DOUBLE VISION:

Everything Red knew about relationships is called into question when he stumbles upon his roommate Fredrik and his girlfriend Liz going at it hot and heavy and Liz invites him to join them. Struggling with recovering from a knee injury, the young defenseman doesn't know what to make of his attraction to Liz--after all, she's his teammate's woman, right?

As an older player, Fredrik's been around the rink a time or ten, and he knows he has an awesome thing going with Liz. He envisions a future with her, but isn't sure how their interludes with Red fit into the long-term picture.

Liz thinks Fredrik's her forever-guy, but her sudden attraction to Red is causing doubts. The more they play together in the bedroom, the more their outside lives--and emotions-- become entangled. When the unthinkable happens, all three must take a hard look at what they want and make some surprising decisions in the process.

Welcome Jacqueline, my fellow Passionate Cook and best-selling author !

Jacqueline discovered the world of romance novels when she read the likes of Kathleen Woodiwiss, Penelope Neri, Johanna Lindsey and June Lund Shiplett’s Journey to Yesterday and Return to Yesterday—two of her favorites. So she started writing romances in the mid to late 1980s when she was first in the military and then continued when she got out of the Navy by becoming a member of SIC Romance Writers of America, and started the Aloha Chapter of RWA in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1989.

Jacqueline’s research into her family history sparked her current WIP of a time travel historical cowboy romance where her heroine may get to meet Jacqueline’s US Deputy Marshall ancestors from the Indian Territory. She loves photography, traveling, scrapbooking, her grandkids and country music, where she finds inspiration to write heroes who look like Alan Jackson.

Jacqueline was born in Oklahoma and has lived in New Mexico, Alaska, Colorado, Idaho, Washington, California, Florida, Connecticut, Hawaii and Iceland, and traveled to London, England; some of these places she has lived while stationed there in the US Navy from 1981-1988. Jacqueline hopes her love of travel and meeting new people shows in the details in the books she likes to write. She currently lives in Idaho in her sister’s house taking care of their mother while her husband works in the oil fields in North Dakota; this living arrangement has given her the opportunity to write full time. So many ideas, so little time!

Sharon: Tell me about the recipe you chose for the Passionate Cooks cookbook.

Jacqueline: It's called Wilderness Chili. Mom’s chili was what we ate on our snowmobile rides all over kingdom come of Idaho and it was very tasty and warmed you right up. If she put a lot of Cayenne pepper in it, you couldn’t each too much. If there were other families riding with us and they ate the chili, someone would always ask, “Why doesn’t the chili have beans in it?”

My mother would reply, “Because true chili doesn’t have beans in it and we like it this way.”

So Lyn, my heroine, made the chili for every guiding trip she was on and it always elicited an argument from one of the men about the lack of beans in it, and this trip with Nic was no different in Wilderness Heart.

I hope you enjoy the Wilderness Chili as well as reading about Lyn and Nic’s little conflicts, and the overall book as I did writing it.

Sharon: It sounds wonderful. Tell us about your latest book release, Wilderness Heart.

Jacqueline: Lyn Taylor loves her job as an Idaho wilderness hunting guide, but her world is complicated. It is a man's job in a man's world where she must constantly prove she is very capable and qualified to guide men on their hunts. On top of her father barely engaging in life since the death of Lyn's mother, Lyn has second thoughts about marrying and having a man in her life.
But that was before she met Nic Randall, a lumber man, who comes from Montana to find timber to be bid on and milled. He is convinced she can't handle the job as their guide because she is a woman and she is, of course, insulted. Nevertheless, neither has much choice and are forced to spend day and night together for the seven day hunt. Lyn is not happy -- just how much is a confident, independent woman suppose to put up with?

Welcome Passionate Cook and Author Karen Booth

Sharon: Welcome Karen. Tell us about your wonderful recipe Ehhplant Al Forno.

Karen: When I cook, I’m all about two things: simplicity and taste. Well, maybe veggies too. No matter what I make for my family, I am constantly sneaking in more vegetables. That’s why I love this eggplant dish, which couldn’t be any simpler or more of a crowd-pleaser in terms of ingredients and flavor profile. My vegetarian daughter loves this dish and actually gets excited about me making eggplant.

I came up with this recipe while trying to recreate the regular baked Eggplant Parmesan. I hated the mess of dipping the slices into egg and breadcrumbs, when most of it ends up sticking to the pan anyway. With my recipe, you have less breading and less work, but you still get a crispy, cheesy topping. Perfect!

Sharon: It's sounds and looks wonderful. Why don't you tell me a little about yourself.

Karen: I'm a Midwestern girl transplanted in the South, raised on 80s music, Judy Blume, and the films of John Hughes. When I'm not creating dreamy fictional men, I'm listening to music with my kids, honing my Southern cooking skills, or sweet-talking my astoundingly supportive husband into whipping up a cocktail.

Sharon: He sounds like a great guy. Tell me about your latest book.

Karen: It's called For Keeps.

By day, Allie Flynn runs her ad agency with singular determination. By night, she retreats to her empty apartment, longing for another hallway encounter with Cooper, the absurdly hot guy in 3B.
Software entrepreneur Cooper Hale doesn’t have time to stock his fridge but he’ll sure as hell stop to smell the roses—he takes every eyeful he can get of criminally sexy Allie from downstairs.
During a neighborly dinner, Cooper decides to finally make a move on Allie, setting off sparks in the kitchen that ignite a wildfire in the bedroom. Allie’s grateful the twenty-eight-year-old hunk has the guts to seduce a woman twelve years his senior, but she’s stunned when he suggests they get tangled in the sheets again and again.
Casual becomes complicated as Cooper grapples with powerful feelings for Allie and she worries that he will eventually want someone younger. When he pulls a jealous stunt, she sees the inevitable end, but she’s about to learn that love, not age, changes the game when you’re playing for keeps.

Introducing Guest Blogger and Best-Selling Author Tilly Greene!

Welcome fellow Passionate Cook and best-selling author Tilly Greene.

Tilly Greene is an author of erotic romances and erotica in an assortment of genres with a variety of themes. She is published in both novel and short story lengths, all coming out first as eBooks and some in print.

The author is a member of RWA, often volunteers to judge contests for unpublished writers, and also a participant in collections that benefit both local and national charitable organizations.

Sharon: Tell me about the recipe you chose for the Passionate Cooks cookbook, 'VEGETARGIAN LASAGNE ROLL-UPS"

Tilly: The cutie and I have an ongoing tug-of-war game going on where I'm on the less meat/more tofu side of things and he's on the less tofu/more meat with lots of veggies on the side. This was a recipe that appealed to me but then I had to tinker with it further when told to cut down on sodium ... it's a tasty dish, healthy with low sodium and cholesterol and whole wheat noodles, but also yummy!

Sharon: It sounds and definitely looks yummy! Tell me about your latest book, "The Keeper".

Tilly: Thora needs to re-establish her connection with Mother Nature and then her artistic energy will once again flow with ease, putting her back in her happy place. Driving home she passes through Fortunes Forest and stops for a walk, only she ends up with so much more. She never expected communing with her grand nurturer would turn into a delightfully thorny interlude with a stranger she discovers is also a keeper.

Pleasurable pain changes her needs and dreams, but what about the stranger who takes her?

Welcome Passionate Cook and Author A. R. Norris

Sharon: I'm happy to have you here today! Tell me a little about yourself A. R.

A. R.: I live in the beautiful Northern California Wine Country of Napa Valley. Married to a wonderful husband, we have 4 children and two canine babies. One very evil cat -- of which the dogs fear -- decided to accept our offer of residency and has tolerated us for years now.

Although I enjoy reading all genres, my writing centers on speculative fiction. There's something about the possibilities that attracts me. It proves the human spirit cannot be dampened by time, location, or change. No matter how far in the future we go, or how deep into another realm or dimension we fall, the core of our species will always adapt and grow... plus the aliens, battles, and cruising through space and time are pretty cool.

Sharon: Your Heavenly Pillows Sopapillas look incredible. What inspired you to make this wonderful recipe?

A. R.: What's more hot than a flaky dessert, dipped in honey and shared with the one you love? Yeah, it takes a bit of prep and build up, but so does the art of romance, does it not?

Sopapillas are a sentimental recipe for me. My grandfather brought the recipe over from Central Mexico when he moved to America. I used to love watching him sit in the kitchen and toss flirtatious comments to my grandma as she dropped the dough in the deep fryer. And then later, they'd cuddle against the counter and share one (or two) together.

The moments were so romantic. When All Romance asked for romantic recipes I knew I had to share this one.

The Hispanic culture has always held a rich romantic element to me. When Damani Wassack, the main male character to my last installment of the Telomere Trilogy, popped into my mental life I knew he was from a Hispanic heritage. In End of Eternity, he tries not to be romantic or sentimental, but can't stop his nature... especially against the Dokkaebi warrior Luna Dokkaebi. He knows that her hostile and contrary personality is only used to hide her fear of a world and an attraction to him she doesn't understand

Sharon: What is End of Eternity about?"

A. R.: Luna thought her journey away from her people's world was over. Now, she's forced to join the lost daughter in her journey with Captain Noah Bonney's crew to learn why these women coexist with men. Something unbelievable to the all woman race. Adding to the confusing change in Dokkaebi directive and teachings, is the presence of the gold-eyed man that stirred something in her heart. A forbidden attraction that goes against all her teachings and her people's ways.

Damani Wassack isn't happy with the situation either. Telomere Watchers lead secluded and separate lives. Yet now, he and the other watchers must come to the surface, show all their secrets and work with outsiders. If that weren't enough, he can't get that sneer from the man-hating warrior woman out of his mind. Or her fierce dedication, strong spirit, and sense of duty and honor. The package is appealing, and completely impossible.

Welcome fellow Passionate Cook and Best-Selling Author Cindy Sample!

After one too many corporate mergers, Cindy Sample found herself plotting murder instead of plodding through paperwork.  Her first Laurel McKay mystery, Dying for a Date, combines bad dates, real estate, a few dead bodies, and plenty of giggles. The sequel, Dying for a Dance, which she describes as Murder She Wrote meets DWTS, won the Northern California Publishers & Authors 2011 Best Fiction Award. The book was also a finalist for the LEFTY Award for best humorous mystery. RT Book Reviews says “Sample’s sleuth is an endearing character readers will adore.”

Cindy is a past President of the Sacramento Chapter of Sisters in Crime and served on the board of the Sacramento Opera and YWCA. Her website is www.cindysamplebooks.com and you can contact her at cindy@cindysamplebooks.com

Sharon: Tell me why you chose HOT CHA CHA CHA CHIPOTLE CAKE as your Passionate Cooks recipe.

Cindy: There's a nasty rumor going around that I can't cook.  I'm not sure where this rumor started, but I'm guessing it began somewhere in my kitchen. Maybe near that burner that ignited the last time I tried to sear a salmon.

Possibly it originated in the microwave. Have you ever seen a hot dog explode? It's quite a sight.

I'm still peeling dried sweet potato fluff off my kitchen cabinets from last Christmas. They did add a nice orange luster to the oak, though.

The cooking gene seems to have skipped a generation in my family. Fortunately, my children determined at an early age that they preferred to eat food that did not come packaged in Styrofoam cartons, so they learned to cook to avoid starving to death. My daughter particularly excels in baking any recipe that involves chocolate, while I excel in eating any recipe that involves chocolate!

There are people who can throw ingredients together and come up with a fabulously creative recipe. Then there are people like me who can religiously follow a recipe and still have it taste worse than three day old Taco Bell.

The one recipe that I can whip out without even looking it up is my HOT CHA CHA CHA CHIPOTLE CAKE. It’s 100% pure gooey chocolate and you really can’t screw it up. Well, if you dump an entire jar of cayenne paper into the mixing bowl, maybe you can.

This flourless chocolate cake is the perfect stimulus when you’re starting a new chapter in your book. Or in your life! There is one warning, though. Once you eat a slice, you will definitely need to cha cha cha off those tasty calories!

When All Romance e-books asked if I wanted to be included with the hottest romance authors in town, and all I had to do was contribute a recipe to their new Passionate Cooks, I immediately said yes. I wasn't going to let a little thing like my inability to distinguish between a TSP. and a TBSP. stop me from swapping recipes with other romance authors.

These ladies have crafted sizzling recipes with even more sizzling titles. Who could resist Sensual Sticky Buns, Date Me - Baby, Passionate Pesto Pasta, Smokin' Hot Bourbon Beef, and my particular favorite, Sexy Stromboli.

I have no idea what Sexy Stromboli is, but I definitely want one. I'm just not sure if I want it in the kitchen or my bedroom!

My own contribution is a recipe that was not handed down from generation to generation. It was handed up from my daughter. With a slight tweak from moi. In honor of my passion for ballroom dancing, I've named it Hot Cha Cha Cha Chipotle Cake.

Once you've eaten a slice, you'll need to cha cha off those tasty calories.

Sharon: Well, I’m all for some Cha Cha…. Tell me about your latest release, “Dying For A Date”.  The cover is wonderful!

Cindy: Not sure if she is looking for Mr. Right, or Mr. Every Other Saturday Night, recently divorced Laurel McKay reluctantly joins The Love Club, a matchmaking agency advertised as the safe alternative to on-line dating.

After Bachelor one decides he wants her for dessert, Laurel hits him with her cell phone. The next day she discovers her drop dead gorgeous date has literally dropped dead. When Bachelor two disappears during dinner, Laurel’s only alibi is a friendly bottle of Dom Perignon. The investigating detective has to decide if the sassy soccer mom is a killer, or the next target.

Excerpt:

I raised my salty-rimmed margarita, "Let's make a toast to Mr. Langfield; he was kind, kooky, and had poor taste in women."
"Here, here. God bless the silly romantic fool," Kitty cheered and twirled her hair around her finger.
"I second that," Brenda clinked her glass to ours and munched on chips and salsa.
After a sip from my drink my sexy-guy radar started to beep. I did a quick scan of the restaurant and spotted my target. I discreetly waved my hand above my head and said, "Target acquired... target acquired." We laughed until we about peed our pants and then I leaned forward and quietly asked, "Do you think he heard me?" then giggled more. "I've seen my share of gorgeous men, but that guy is smok’n hot."
"Oh boy, is he ever," Kitty and Brenda said in unison and fanned their faces dramatically.
"He's been looking my way. I'm giving him my, 'you can buy me a drink' look."
All of a sudden Kitty rolled her eyes toward the bar and whispered, "Holy moly, he's coming this way."
Sure enough he made his way through the crowd on the dance floor towards our table. Before I hyperventilated from excitement, Kitty kicked me in the shin. "Thanks, I needed that." Kitty could be pretty levelheaded in stressful situations.

Interview

Tell us about your latest book, including its genre. Does it cross over to other genres? If so, what are they?
Klutzy Love, book three of The Corny Myers Series is a paranormal romance. Klutzy Love goes back to the beginning when Corny and Steve first meet. All three books have strong humor elements, lot's of interaction with animals and a sexy cop.
How do you come up with ideas?
Every Saturday and Sunday morning my husband and I take a long walk and talk about the crazy things Corny should do with her sidekicks (animals). He's says he's not a romantic guy but he comes up with creative ideas that I would've never thought of. The other walkers must think we're crazy.
What is the most important thing you do for your career?
I joined Romance Writers of America and the local chapter, Peninsula Romance Writers of America. I go every month to our meetings and seminars. I volunteer as the chapter Treasurer. I went to the Emerald City Writers conference last year and met the most incredible women and a few men. I guess my answer is I spend time with other authors and keep educating myself.
What do you enjoy most about writing?
It makes me extremely happy…I crack myself up.
What do you enjoy most about life?
Besides writing; my husband, my cat, and cooking. Most recently I befriended a neighbor's male Mallard duck. We have deep conversations and he agrees with everything I say. He nods his head up and down and says, "Quuack, quuack" I love a man who thinks I'm right all the time.
Would you consider self publishing?
Be Mine

Not right now. I feel a strong loyalty to Jenni Conner at Books To Go Now. This is a tough industry to be in. Every review is very personal and you can get crushed pretty easy. She's always there to listen and put a positive spin on things. If it wasn't for Jenni, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
How many hours a day to you spend writing?
I have a day job, but I'm able to squeeze in at least two-four hours daily and I write four to five hours on Saturday. Writing fulfills me like nothing else ever has.
What do you hope readers take with them after reading your work?
A big laugh, a big smile and a better appreciation for animals… ha ah!
List two authors we would find you reading when taking a break from your own writing.
Janet Evanovich & J.D. Robb. In both series, the authors create wonderful and exciting relationships between the heroine and the hero.
Why do you write?
Why do I write? Well, because the little voices in my head tell me to—seriously, I’ve always talked to myself—now I put the voices on paper.
I was a late bloomer and didn’t start my love of reading until I was in my twenties and then I couldn’t get enough of the wonderfully, smutty Harlequin books.
I’ve worked in the government sector for fifteen years and always dreamed of having a job that I could work from home. This crazy idea came to me one night, after reading a particularly sizzling romance. Why not try my hand at writing one? So, out of the blue I told my husband I was going to write a Harlequin novel. He said, “Okay.”
I figured I’d read enough of them, I could write one—no problem. Eight thousand words later; I realized it was harder than I thought. I also realized, I wasn’t writing what I was most comfortable with—animals.
I put my Harlequin attempt on the back burner and started writing “The Boss from Hell”. My boss, who I adored, had been fired and his replacement was a living-terror. It was really easy to come up with material to write about and of course I threw in a bunch of romance and of course animals. Ninety thousand words later I was still optimistic that I could write for a living, but I’d need a lot of support, my cat couldn’t give me. The support came in the form of Romance Writers of America and all the people involved in the local chapter.
Several of the members of my local chapter read my book and made numerous suggestions, one of them came from an independent publisher—Books to Go Now. She told me to put the novel aside for now and try my hand at a short story. That’s where I incorporated the paranormal aspect to my writing and it really clicked for me.
I submitted ‘Flamingo Blues’, as a Christmas short story to Books to Go Now and I was offered my first contract. ‘Be Mine’, a Valentine short story, is book two of ‘The Corny Meyers Series’ and in addition to a contract, I won the holiday contest too. Woo hoo! Klutzy Love is book three of ‘The Corny Myers Series’, which came out in August 2012.
I’ve been a jack-of-all-trades and master-of-none, my whole life. I’ve worked in restaurants, weight loss centers, worked in a fish cannery and even worked in a top salon in Seattle, but none of that was as satisfying as seeing my own words in print.
That is why I write….
Flamingo Blues

If money were not an object, where would you most like to live?
Italy. I would sit in a relaxing chair in my beautifully manicured garden. Eat bruschetta made from my home grown tomatoes, basil, and olive oil, on warm baguettes. Well, to be honest, I do that now, but Italy would be awesome.
Picture yourself as a store. Considering your personality and lifestyle, what type of products would be sold there?
It would be an unusual book store, only selling eBooks. You could bring in your Kindle or Nook, and sit in a comfy chair and read through the latest eBook menu. You'd select your download and then come to the counter and purchase a gourmet sandwich, salad, wine, or beer and then enjoy your read.
As a child, what was your favorite thing about school?
Show and tell; I could always find a bug or frog to bring in and talk about. My love of animals hasn't diminished over the years, only gotten stronger.
If you came with a warning label, what would it say?
"Warning: May be nuts."

Please Fill in the Blanks

I love pizza with roasted garlic, andouille sausage, mushrooms, and black olives.
I'm always ready for a good steamy romance and a glass of chardonnay.
When I'm alone, I think about my husband and what I'm going to feed him for dinner.
You'd never be able to tell, but I'm not a natural red head.
If I had a halo it would be a pitch fork.
If I could be an animal, I'd be a bald eagle and rule over all the other birds.
I can never bungee jump because I'm afraid of heights.
