Please Welcome Bestselling Author Kara Leigh Miller to my Romantic Ramblings!

She was born and raised in the small town of Mexico, New York, Kara was an only child who was forced to find ways to entertain herself. Playing make believe with her Barbie dolls and stuffed animals was her first real taste of storytelling before she became old enough to develop a love affair with the written word.

In early 2010, Kara picked up her very first erotic romance novel, and she was instantly hooked. She loves to write contemporary romance, erotica, and young adult romance. Currently she has several full-length novels in the works, a series of novellas, and a handful of short stories. Kara is an active member of the CNY
Creative Writers Café and the CNY Romance Writers.

Today, Kara resides in New Haven, New York with her husband, five kids, and three cats. When she's not reading or writing, she's thinking about reading and writing. And when she's not doing that, she's spending time with her family and friends.

Kara's here to talk about her latest release Valentine Voyeur.

One detective, the woman he loves, and the pervert that's after her. Can he catch the voyeur and get the girl?

For the past three years, Detective Greg Markson has spent his Valentine's Days chasing the Valentine Voyeur, who always seems to be one step ahead of the police. This year was no different—Until Greg comes face-to-face with Alexandra Brooks: the younger sister of his former best friend and partner. Greg has always wanted to ask her out, but fears she blames him for the accident that left her brother paralyzed. But when he has a second chance encounter with her, and she invites him to a Valentine's Day costume party, he simply can't refuse. It's the chance he's always wanted. But will he be able to get over his own guilt long enough to find love? And will he be able to stop the Valentine Voyeur before he strikes again?

Kara poses a good question... Do Readers Care Who Publishes a Book?

I recently had a discussion with a fellow writer friend of mine about publishers and whether or not it mattered if all her books were with the same publishing house. She was hesitant for various reasons. We tossed around the idea that the more publishers we worked with the more exposure we would get, and how different publishers offered a variety of editing experiences, etc.

There is a lot of varying opinions out there, but there seems to be one common thread: sticking with the same publisher offers the reader consistency, that every single time they buy a book by a certain author published by a certain house they can expect high quality, error free books.

Personally, I have 4 different publishers I work with—each one chosen for different reasons and each one publishing a different genre. One publisher I like, and will continue to use is, Books to Go Now. They consistently produce high quality, aesthetically pleasing books in a variety of genres. For them, I write erotic romances.

My final thought on the subject was this: Readers don't really care who publishes a book. They will buy it because they like the author, the blurb piques their interest, or it came recommended by a trusted source, among other reasons. But, the more I think about it, the less sure I am of that statement.

So, I pose this question to all you readers out there: Do you really care who publishes a book? Will it affect your decision to buy or not buy a particular book? What about all you authors out there? Do you prefer to keep all your books with one publisher? Or do you like the variety afforded by using multiple publishers?

Answer Kara's question and you'll be entered to win an copy of her wonderful eBook Love At The Edge.

Remember to include your email address with your comment.

Valentine Special Delivery, Published January 2013

Blurb:

Vickie's husband took her dog, emptied their bank account and ran off with his secretary. The only thing he left her with is his car payment and a bad taste in her mouth.

Vickie has a new life that revolves around her derelict car, a struggling new business and a sexy FedEx delivery guy.

After a well-placed kiss, Jake gets a taste of Vickie—and now he can't get enough. After delivering packages all day, he's more than willing to let her unwrap his package.

Excerpt:

"You smell delicious; cinnamon, oranges and vanilla. I want a taste."

He didn't wait for my response; he turned me around and took possession of my mouth. His hands held my head, while he devoured my mouth. His body braced me against the refrigerator. His hand slid under my sweater and cupped my breast. Did he moan or me? I think we both did. His hand was on the move again. I unconsciously sucked in my stomach, his hand was able to easily slide down and inside the front of my jeans. Already wet, he slid his finger up and down my sex, all the while seducing me with his mouth. So close, so close… I shuddered and convulsed around his hand. We broke the kiss and I rested my head on his chest.

How long did that take? Five minutes… I'm so easy. God! What was Jake going to think? He lifted his head, slowly removed his hand from my jeans and sucked on his finger, never taking his eyes off me. I guess he liked it.
